Affiliate Disclosure

Audio-play.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

That sentence is required by the program. The rest of this page explains what it actually means for you.

What we earn and when

Most outbound product links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something within Amazon’s attribution window, Amazon may pay us a small advertising fee on that order. The fee comes out of Amazon’s own margin. It is not added to your total.

The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you went to Amazon directly. An affiliate link does not unlock a discount and it does not create a surcharge. Amazon’s commission rates vary by product category and Amazon can change them at any time. We have no control over those rates.

Links may be redirected

Some outbound links pass through a redirect on a domain we control before they arrive at Amazon. That step exists so the click can be counted and attributed correctly. It does not change where you end up, and it does not add anything to your order. If you would rather not use our links, you are free to search for any product covered here directly on Amazon or anywhere else.

How this affects what we publish

A commercial incentive exists, and pretending otherwise would be worse than naming it. We are paid when a purchase happens, so we benefit if you buy something. Here is what keeps that from bending the writing.

  • No brand, manufacturer or seller pays us for inclusion, for a ranking position, or for a particular description. We do not run sponsored posts or paid reviews.
  • We do not request or accept free product samples, because nothing we publish is based on handling a product.
  • Editorial decisions about what to cover and what to say are made independently of which products happen to pay a higher commission rate.
  • Criticism stays in. If the specifications are thin, if a listing contradicts itself, or if owners keep reporting the same problem, the write-up says so even though a discouraged reader is a lost commission.

What our recommendations are based on

This matters as much as the money, so it is stated here as well as on the about page. Our write-ups are built from manufacturer specifications, published retail listing data and buyer feedback aggregated across many owners. We do not physically test, listen to, measure or own the products we write about. No claim on this site should be read as the result of hands on evaluation, because none of it is.

Specifications and availability change without notice, and manufacturers revise products while keeping the same name. Always check the current listing and the manufacturer’s own documentation before you buy.

Other programs and questions

Amazon is the primary affiliate relationship on this site. If we add another advertising or affiliate program, this page will be updated to name it. Amazon, the Amazon logo and all product names mentioned belong to their respective owners.
